Our Awards

Award winning Devon holiday park

At Andrewshayes we have worked hard over the years to achieve the standards we would expect to find if we went on holiday.  One of our main aims is that our park is a clean, tidy and pleasant place for you and your family to have your holiday.  We also want to ensure that everyone on our team is friendly and welcoming and that all the facilities are as you would hope to find them.

In 2021 our hard work paid off as we became not just an award winning Devon holiday park,  but also South West Holiday Park of the Year.

Each of the different awards we have take a slightly different focus, but they help keep us on our toes and encourage us to make continual improvements to the park.

Devon Tourism Awards 2025

We are delighted to have been awarded second place, receiving a Silver Award in the finals of the 2025 Devon Tourism Awards.

What makes this award extremely important to us is that they are a real deep dive into the success of the park. They look at recent improvements, customer service, online reviews and future plans. It includes mystery shopping and an unannounced visit from a judge.

We’re up against some stiff competition, but regardless of the outcome we can proudly say we are officially in the top 4 parks in Devon and that is definitely something to celebrate as we head into our 90th year in business. The “old” Mrs Lawrence would be amazed at how the park looks now.

WINNERS- Devon Tourism Awards 2020/21

We are absolutely thrilled to have won the top spot in the Devon Tourism Awards in the Holiday Park category. Even more good news arrived in March 2021 that we had been selected to go through to the South West Regional Awards which we also went on to win!

Due to the expansion of the park with the new Orchard Retreat, we entered the Holiday Park category of the awards. We were up against some much bigger parks so we are pleased to have even reached the finals. Winning was the icing on the cake. It’s a real team effort here at Andrewshayes.

AA Pennant Rating

We have maintained our 4 AA Pennants with an increase in overall score to 92% giving us a Gold Award for our touring and camping facilities.

Andrewshayes does not have all the features needed to become a 5 Pennant Park so we are delighted to be the best 4 Pennant Park possible. We are also listed in the AA’s Rated Trips website

“Parks with this award have achieved an extremely high standard in all areas. You can expect fully tiled shower cubicles and some combined toilet-washing cubicles. A warden is available at all times, and there is a good level of security and supervision”.

Premier Parks 2025 Award

Premier Park Scheme

This is a membership scheme operated by the producers of Caravan, MMM Magazine and “Out and About Live” web site.  Premier Parks are selected and invited to join, then have to be rated by the magazine’s Parks Department editorial team before they can join.

Although high-quality facilities are important, it’s the overall feel, ambience and location that earns parks top marks. Premier Parks has high standards and has developed its own unique rating scheme to assess parks thoroughly, entirely independent of any tourist board rating.

Premier Parks is a select group – there are only 100 Premier Parks throughout the UK.

Andrewshayes was first inspected during 2012 and we were delighted to have been selected for the scheme every year since then.

David Bellamy Conservation Awards are made each year to parks which can demonstrate policies showing active concern for the environment. The parks that take part in the scheme are all regularly assessed by the scheme’s team of local wildlife experts. The assessors look at the steps parks are taking to:

– Manage their land as a haven for wildlife
– Reduce their use of energy, water and other resources
– Reduce, reuse and recycle the waste they produce
– Support their local communities.

Three levels of excellence can be achieved: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Andrewshayes joined the scheme in 2009  are very proud to have been awarded Gold  5 years running.  Although no longer part of the scheme, we work hard to make the park as “green” as possible. This means considering everything from employing local staff and stocking local goods in our shop, to investing in renewable energy. We also have a fantastic rural location and our new woodland area has provided a lovely place to take a walk or picnic. In 2010 we received a Special Distinction from David Bellamy for this woodland and were also given Bee Friendly Status.

Enjoy-England-Andrewshayes-Award

Andrewshayes Holiday Park has been graded 4 stars every year from 2001 to 2013. We decided to leave the scheme as we felt we do not need to participate in both the AA and Visit England grading schemes.

The star rating system is the official assessment service provided by Visit England. The rating for Holiday, Touring and Camping Parks reflects the overall quality of the park. The assessment covers nearly all aspects of the park that a visitor would expect such as the level of facilities being offered, the cleanliness of all the public areas, the layout and quality of the pitches and caravans for hire as well as provision of services such as a shop, bar and information room.

For 2012 the grading scheme was altered so that a park has to receive a 4 star grade across a number of different areas to become 4 star (previously as long as the overall score averaged out to 4 stars that was sufficient).
