Bicton Park Botanical Gardens East Devon

Spanning nearly 300 years of horticultural history, these magnificent grade 1 listed gardens and superbly landscaped park are combined with a countryside museum, woodland railway train ride, nature trail, maze, mini golf, indoor and outdoor children’s play areas, restaurant and shop. Entrance fees apply and dogs charged at £1.00. A great day out for all ages.

Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary

Home to hundreds of rescued donkeys that you can visit and even adopt. There are accessible paths around the main sanctuary (excellent coffee shop and gift shop) as well as five beautiful walks around the grounds and dogs are welcome. Entry is free but donations appreciated. 

Seaton Tramway Best Great Day out for all

Seaton Tramway Operates narrow gauge heritage trams between Seaton, Colyford and Colyton in East Devon’s glorious Axe Valley, traveling alongside the River Axe Estuary through two nature reserves and giving an unrivaled view of the abundant wading bird life. Timetables and charges apply. All dogs travel at a flat fare of £1.00 each way, but must ride on the lower deck.
Forde Abbey

A wonderful treasure hidden on the Somerset border. It combines beautiful gardens with a former monastery and chapel as well as ornate rooms to visit. It is a living testament to the people who have lived and worked there over the past nine centuries. In October 2013 filming took place in the Great Hall for part of “Far From the Madding Crowd”, which was used as the Corn Exchange where Bathsheba Everdene first meets Mr Boldwood. There is a tea room, gift shop and letterboxing trail for children. Dogs on leads are welcomed.

Just 1 mile from Andrewshayes is East Devon’s secret garden, 10 acres of colour from April to October with stunning displays of azaleas and rhododendrons. Dogs welcome on leads.
