The Ploughman’s Bar is the perfect place to relax after a busy day out exploring. Enjoy a drink or meal and chat with other visitors to compare notes about the best days out.
You can even watch the children swimming from the conservatory.
Serving home cooked meals, made to order pizza, fish and chips and burgers at reasonable family friendly prices, it’s a great option for a tasty meal at the end of a busy day out.
In peak weeks look out for themed nights when the main menu will be reduced including Wrap night, American menu and Pizza meal deal nights
Please note, the bar and takeaway are only open Friday and Saturday nights and NOT open midweek i.e. Sunday – Thursday outside peak school holidays. See below or call us on 01404 831225 for details.

Opening DaysÂ
The Ploughman’s Bar, Restaurant and Takeaway will be open every Friday and Saturday evening from 5pm throughout the season and extra evenings during the main state school holidays (call us to check midweek opening dates).
The bar and restaurant are both family and dog friendly.
Our shop onsite shop is licensed and sells some basic meal items if you do get caught out.
 On some nights the menu will be reduced – check The Ploughman’s Bar notice boards for details.

Enjoy our covered heated pool, open from the 1st April to the 2nd of November, 2025.
Ploughman’s Bar 2026 Opening Dates
Indulge in great home cooked food and refreshing drinks at Ploughman’s Bar, available from the 20th of March to the 1st of November. Join us every Friday and Saturday from 5pm until 11pm, with our kitchen serving up freshly cooked family favourites from 5:30pm. Please note, the last orders for food will be taken at 8:30pm.
Extended Opening Hours During State School Holidays 2026
Easter Holidays: Wednesday 1st April- Sunday 12th April, Wednesday 15th April- Saturday 18th April.
Friday and Saturdays 5pm-11pm and food 5pm-8.30pm. Note Weekday opening will be 5pm-9.30pm and food 5pm-7.30pm.
May Half Term: 22nd May to 30th May
Summer Holidays: 24th July to 30th August
Autumn Half Term: 23rd – 31st October (check for reduced week day opening hours)

The Ploughman’s Bar is fitted with a hearing loop facility at the bar (next to the till). Also available on request is a portable hearing loop that you can use at your table. This should enhance the experience of anyone visiting the bar and restaurant who uses hearing aids, making it easier and more comfortable for you to talk to your family and friends.
