East Devon Easter Events Guide 2026
Easter is a great time explore Devon and all it’s great attractions with lots of special events added in during the school holidays.
There are lots of fantastic days out near Andrewshayes, from days on the beach, countryside walks, National Trust gardens and outdoor local attractions including our favourite parks.
We have come up with some local ideas so you can plan ahead and make your Easter holidays jam packed.
Please double check for advance tickets as for many places this as the norm now and prices are cheaper online.

Easter Egg Hunts in Devon
Run throughout the UK by the National Trust, these are a great activity for the whole family. Nearest to Andrewshayes at historic sites are Killerton House, Castle Drogo and Knightshayes. Across the border Montecute House and Fyne Court are also popular. Check the full list of National Trust sites running these here, as we are close to the Somerset and Dorset borders.
Get outdoors and have fun following the Easter egg trails from 21st March, explore gardens, spring flowers and enjoy the outdoors. Claim your chocolate reward on completion. Normal admission charges apply. Egg hunts £3.50 charge per child.
e Donkey Sidmouth Sanctuary
Head along for the annual Easter trail at The Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary. This is always a popular place to spend a few hours and has a lovely cafe too.
Follow the trail around the grounds to discover what animals you could find living in the various habitats located across the land in Devon and Dorset and meet the Donkeys as you explore the grounds. Price is £5.00 and includes a prize of a chocolate Easter egg.
Greendale Easter Egg Trail
Greendale farm shop located between Sidmouth and Exeter are hosting an Easter egg trail between the 31st March -19th April.
Follow the clues around the trail which is perfect for pushchairs and little legs and meet the friendly chickens and ducks, visit Oscar the ostrich and have a seat on one of the vintage tractors on display until the final clue leads to a reward.
Greendale also has a great selection on local products in their farm shop, and also a café serving lots of delicious treats.
Ferne Animal Sanctuary
Ferne Animal Sanctuary is a delightful place for a wander to see locally rescued animals as well as chickens and geese. It’s push chair friendly and has a small play area and a cafe. Near Chard it’s only 15 minutes drive from Andrewshayes.
Ferne are hosting their Annual Spring Fayre, fun for all the family on the 5th April. Join them for children’s activities, fundraising fun and support local traders along with lots more fun.

Symondsbury Estate
From 28th March – 12th April, families are invited to embark on a charming adventure trail, exploring the Estate in search of clues – the perfect way to welcome the joys of spring.
Pick up your trail sheet from the Visitor Centre at Symondsbury Store and let the fun begin! Once you’ve discovered all the names, return your completed sheet to claim a sweet treat as your well-earned reward. £4.00 per child
Seaton Wetlands
For lovely walks and bird spotting huts, also pushchair friendly. Spend an hour or two at the Wetlands and then it’s just a minutes drive discover the free Jurassic themed play park in Seaton (near Tesco).
Seaton Wetlands runs a fun Easter trail running throughout the Easter holidays.
Seaton Tramway
Seaton Tramway operates narrow gauge trams along 3 miles of lovely countryside through the Axe Valley. This delightful route lets you enjoy the wildlife of the River Axe Estuary as it passes along the river and Seaton Wetlands, a bird spotters delight. Booking is advisable.
Find Gilbert the station Master’s Goose and it’s cheeky chicks, and complete the sheet to win an Easter treat. Children under 15 can pick up a free activity sheet from Seaton or Colyton stations.

Bicton Gardens
Bicton Park Botanical Gardens near Budleigh Salterton has been developed over 300 years and is a Grade 1 listed garden. The beautiful grounds, glass houses, Italian garden and much more make it a gardeners paradise and perfect for all ages who enjoy exploring.
On Easter Sunday and Monday take part in the Gnome trail around the park. As well the gardens, enjoy all year round entertainment including the countryside museum, Bicton woodland railway, nature trail, maze and indoor and outdoor play areas makes this a good day out.
Wildwood Escot
Spring has sprung and Wildwood Escot look forward to welcoming. Meet the animals including wolves, wild boar, red squirrels and lynx. There is also plenty of outdoor play areas. Spot the red squirrels or try to escape from the beech maize.
Over Easter Wildwood Escot have two weeks of family fun activities including Easter egg hunts in the beech hedge maze, face painting, and willow crown making
Enjoy a story around the fire in the Saxon village or to try your hand at eco art and Saxon activities.
Crealy Theme Park, Exeter
Crealy Theme Park is open weekends only before and after Easter. If you have younger teens and tweens we know that you are going to love this theme park. Enjoy a mix of outdoor rides, adventure play areas, giant soft play, grounds to explore and visit the animals including the mischievous Meerkats!
Over Easter enjoy K-Pop special events and the iconic Sooty Show.

Free days out in East Devon
Beaches:
Spend the day at one of our many nearby beaches. Our beach section on our website includes more information but includes walking the South West coast path, fossil hunting, fishing or just relaxing in the Spring sunshine.
Playparks:
Seaton has a Jurassic themed park, Exmouth on the seafront in Queens drive space has a Dinosaur themed park with plenty of takeaway stalls located in the same area. West Bay in Dorset has a wooden themed park with some unusual play equipment which is a lot of fun, if you are Broadchurch fans then explore West Bay and the locations used for filming this hit TV series.
Information Room
Our well stocked information room is packed full of leaflets and ideas for days out. You can also take a look on the local blog Flip flops or Wellies that posts write ups and reviews of many local attractions and has an event listing. Also feel free to ask our office team or wardens for advice.
In addition to all the local events listed, we will be running our own Easter Trail around the park. When you have answered all of the clues pop your form back into the office to claim a sweet treat.
