East Devon Easter Events Guide 2020

There are lots of fantastic days out near Andrewshayes, from days on the beach, countryside walks and gardens to local attractions. Over the Easter holidays many of these tourist attractions hold special events and we are delighted to help share as many of these with you here.

Read on for our East Devon Easter events guide. Please double check dates to avoid disappointment.  


World of Country Life Exmouth– Fun of daily activities throughout the Easter holidays including an Easter trail with prizes. New baby animals to visit in the pet centre and nursery and also a special mad hat tea party over the Easter weekend.

Easter Egg Hunt at Killerton House (National Trust) near Exeter-Why not get outdoors and have fun following the Easter egg trail, explore the gardens,  discover the bear hut and ice house. Enjoy your Cadburys chocolate reward on completion. Normal admission charges apply. 28th March – 19th April. 

A La Ronde Exmouth (National Trust) – Enjoy the annual Easter egg hunt around this fascinating 18th  century 16 sided house. Find clues around the house and gardens and be rewarded with a Cadburys chocolate. Normal admission charges apply. 28th March – 19th April.

Stonebarrow (Golden Cap National Trust) Take part in the Easter egg hunt and explore nature and wildlife whilst solving the clues. Win a Cadbury’s chocolate treat. 10th-13th April between 11am-3pm.


The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth- Get outdoors this spring and explore the beautiful East Devon countryside by joining in with the Easter Nature Trail which will lead you around the Donkey Sanctuary whilst meeting some of the lovable resident donkeys. Entrance is free, the trail costs £3.50 per trail, including the prize and certificate on completion. Choose between palm oil free mini chocolate eggs in a biodegradable and compostable bag or seeds to help you create your own wild flower meadow at home. 28th March  – 19th April.

Pecorama- Ride on the Beer heights light railway and spot all the hidden eggs to win a prize. Pecorama is a great day out for the family with various play areas for the children and some stunning gardens. Pecorama is also a dog friendly attraction.

Seaton Jurassic – If you love Lego then this is the one for you. Seaton Jurassic are hosting Lego workshops on the 6th April, each 1 hour slot is £5, you will learn how to create dinosaurs or a Jurassic garden. Booking is essential.

Seaton Tramway  – enjoy themed days on a ride on the lovely Seaton Tram. Pirate day– Dress up as a pirate and set sail on the Seaton Pearl in search for treasure at shipwreck cove on her voyage through the Axe Estuary. All children will receive some “booty”.  8th & 15th April.
Fairy day– Embark on the fairy special in search of the fairy kingdom in your quest to save the fairy prince. Children will also receive a goody bag. 6th & 17th April.
Dinosaur Specials – enjoy this adventure filled tram ride with music, stories, fossil dig and dinosaur activity area at Colyton Station. Help Professor Percival the Palaeontologist uncover the secrets of a land that time forgot and fulfil a mission to make contact with some forgotten species. 5th & 19th April

Gilbert the Station Master’s Easter Egg Hunt eggstravaganza will be held on 10th – 12th April! Help Gilbert the Station Master find his Grumpy Goose and his cheeky chicks who have gone missing. Collect an activity sheet from Seaton or Colyton Station and complete it to win an Easter treat.

Seaton Wetlands – For lovely walks, check the East Devon Events guide for special activities and events. 

Wildwood Escot: Spring has sprung and Wildwood Escot look forward to welcoming the Saxon goddess of Easter, Eostre, to the Saxon Village. Enjoy a story around the fire or to try your hand at eco art and Saxon activities. Make ​Crowns and Wands using local willow and natural materials and decorate with springs beautiful flowers, natural materials and ribbons.

Crealy Adventure Park, Exeter–  A fun family theme park with rides and play areas for all ages. As well as all the normal activities, Crealy have their annual Easter egg hunt, this year is an eggo-saurus dinosaur hunt, solve the riddles and clues that reveal the dino eggs hidden around the park to win a chocolate prize. Easter egg hunt between 30th March-13th April.

Powderham Castle, Exeter – Half price admission on the 28th and 29th March open weekend. Discover the 6oo year old castle and take part in special events organised for the weekend, there will also be a BBQ and free ice cream samples. Normal admission charges apply. 

Easter Bonnet parade, Lyme Regis– Take part in the Easter bonnet parade or just enjoy watching as it heads through town and along the sea front. The parade will be lead by Lyme Regis Majorettes. 12th April judging at 2pm at the Baptist Church followed by the parade at 3pm.

Big Duck Race, Lyme Regis– Follow the Town Crier through Lyme Regis to the start of the race and support the local Woodroffe school. Race starts at noon but tickets on sale from 10am.

There are also plenty of nearby beaches to explore as well as fossil hunting and rock pooling.
