What’s on for Autumn Half Term in Devon 2025?
There are lots of fantastic days out in East Devon and West Dorset over half term. Base yourselves at Andrewshayes Holiday Park this the Autumn and set out exploring on the beach, enjoy countryside walks, museums and lots of events at local attractions.
Enjoy local pubs and beachside cafes for hot chocolate and salty chips.
In October many tourist attractions hold special events and we are delighted to help share some of these with you here for some great autumn half term days out in Devon.

Crealy Adventure Park, Exeter
A fun family theme park with over 60 rides and attractions for all ages. As well as all the normal activities, over half term enjoy the Crealy Spookfest.
Get ready for frights, and lots of family fun.
The Creaky Hotel is returning and includes new rooms, plus enjoy live scare mazes and spooky shows such as Bump in the night illusion show.
For the younger children they can watch the Halloween Sooty show followed by a meet and greet with Sooty and Sweep. New this year is a Trick or Treat trail for an additional cost.
As always the popular Scarecrow Maze is a must see attraction. There really is so much to see at Crealy this year. FREE pumpkins for every child who visits the Theme Park.

World of Country Life Exmouth
Half term is going to be spooooky at World of Country Life. Halloween activities including pumpkin carving, a fangtastic Halloween Trail.
Enjoy the usual daily activities such as walking a goat, ride the deer train safari and hand feed the red deer and llama, bottle feed calves, small animal handling and the awesome Hawkridge birds of prey flying display.
The attraction has a mix of museums, animals, play areas and entertainment, both outdoors and under cover, making it a perfect day out for the whole family, whatever the age range. There is an extensive vintage vehicle collection, acres of indoor and outdoor play areas, a wide variety of animals and an on-site restaurant. More details at World of Country Life.
Ferne Animal Sanctuary – near Chard
The lovely Ferne Animal Sanctuary has an accessible trail throughout the Sanctuary, through a woodland with lily and dragonfly ponds, spot the ducks and other animals. There is a play area, café and gift shop. Perfect for pushchairs and the like. There is also a plaque rubbing trail at Ferne Animal Sanctuary.
Celebrate Halloween at Ferne by joining in with the spooktacular event for the whole family at Ferne Animal Sanctuary on the Friday 31st October, there will be lots of activities including Cats, Bats and Spiders crafting, Halloween games, a spooky educational Trail and Fancy dress.

The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth
Get outdoors this Autumn and enjoy the Sidmouth Donkey. Meet all the Donkeys on your scenic walk around the Sanctuary and enjoy a delicious lunch or coffee and cake in the lovely cafe.
Take part in the Trick or Trot Halloween Trail around the sanctuary. Find the pumpkins that have popped up between 7th October and 2nd November.
There’s a play area, daily talks, scenic walks, engaging exhibits, award-winning gardens and, of course, hundreds of adorable donkeys to meet. Friendly dogs on leads are welcome too!
Seaton Wetlands
The Wetlands is perfect for bird watching with some superb hides and is a great way to spend a couple of hours in an area of outstanding beauty for all ages.
It has an excellent flat trail throughout , suitable for youngsters to ride their bikes and perfect for pushchairs and wheelchair users.
A children’s trail is often run over half term, head to the Discovery Hut 10am – 4pm for more details.

Pecorama in Beer
Head to Pecorama model railway between 28th October and 1st November for a spellbinding adventure at the witch’s academy. Your mission is to complete magical lessons and challenges along the Trail. Will you graduate as a witch or wizard?
Enjoy the detail of the model railways at Pecorama and take a ride on the light railway train around the gardens.
Get dressed in your spookiest costume or your favourite character.
Special for this year is a Halloween evening on the 29th October and the 30th October dare to take a ride on the ghost train and see who is lurking about, will you be tricked or treated? and be mesmerised by the magical entertainment during the evening.
Seaton Tramway
This Halloween head for a spooktacular family adventure on the Trick or Treat Tram! running 29th Oct – 31st Oct (booking required)
Step into a world of enchantment and fun as you embark on a mystic tram ride through a journey filled with pumpkins, ghouls, and delightful surprises.

Flip Out Trampoline park in Wellington, Somerset
Although not technically in Devon it is actually only a 25 minute drive from Andrewshayes and is a great place to burn some energy.
Flip Out is a huge trampoline park including inflatables, ninja obstacle course and stunt box zones as well as Lazer Tag, this is a great day out and one of our preferred rainy days out. Open 7 days a week with various price options from £12.95 per hour
Wildwood Escot
Explore the woods and look for native animals such as wolves, wild boar and lynx. Enjoy the beech maze, indoor and outdoor play areas, zip wire, authentic Saxon village and regular daytime activities.
This half term Wildwood, celebrate the Saxon month of Winterfylleth (October) and the Pagan festival of Samhain (Halloween).
Plus for Halloween on 31st October there is a special after dark event 5pm – 9pm with a trick or treat trail and spooky surprises around the park. More details at Wildwood Devon.
National Trust
There are some lovely National Trust sites not too far from Andrewshayes, check online for Halloween events.
Castle Drogo near Okehampton
Knightshayes near Tiverton has a Halloween trail around the gardens
Killerton House near Exeter has extensive grounds and woods, perfect for a lovely autumn walk. There is also a house to look around and the younger ones can have fun following the pushchair friendly path to the bear hut or to the den building area.
Montacute House near Ilminster. Embrace the Autumn season and follow the trail around the grounds to take part in fun autumn activities around Montacute House gardens and the Autumn themed nature trail.
Canonteign Falls
Just the other side of Exeter England’s highest man-made waterfall. Canonteign Falls is a magnificent example of a Victorian folly set in a magical natural paradise with lakes, woodland walks and an adventure play area.
There’s spooky fun to be had during the half term holiday. There will be a Halloween Trail between included in the admission.
Lyme Regis and Charmouth
Explore the beaches for fossils and discover the creatures in the rock pools. Check online for guide fossil walks and book ahead via Charmouth Heritage Centre or Lyme Regis Museum.
Join Lyme Regis Museum on the 31st October for some ghostly tales and goulish fun. Take part in creepy crafts, freaky face paints and a torchlight trail through 200 million years of history and an unlucky dip!

Pumpkin Fest Darts Farm
Pop along to Darts Farm for their annual pumpkin fest. With over 12000 pumpkins we are sure you will find something. This is also a fantastic opportunity to get some great family photos.
You can also expect magical shows, toasting marshmallows, face paints, homemade sweet treats.
Halloween Trail at Greendale Farm Shop the free pumpkin patch will be returning from the weekend of October 11th. The perfect autumn half-term activity!
