Andrewshayes Takes the Top Spot in The South West Tourism Awards
Gathered round the laptop in a virtual online awards ceremony, we, the Lawrence family, learnt for the second time this year that we are award winners.
Back in March we joined a similar event for the Devon Tourism Awards which we are amazed and delighted to have won. We are not ashamed to say we cracked open the fizz that afternoon.
That win put us up for the South West Tourism Awards, pitching us against all the other county finalists and winners. Being a 12 noon ceremony it was a bit early for anything stronger that a coffee but I think a stiff drink would have served us well when the results were announced; South West Tourism Awards winners 2020 in the Holiday Park category.
Celebrating 85 Years in Business
To be honest we are still in a bit of shock. A farming family by background we are a fairly humble lot.
The win marks an especially fitting milestone, as the park is also celebrating 85 years in business being run by the same family over 4 generations. It was 60 years ago things really started to develop thanks to the determination and hard work of Harry and Stephanie.

Recent New Developments and Improvements
Over the last few years, Andrewshayes has invested in a new development of luxury holiday homes as well as continually improving existing facilities on the park.
Other factors that helped the park win the awards (based on the judges feedback) were its customer service, environmental actions, online reviews and social media as well as other initiatives the park has implemented. One example is a tree planting scheme working with a charity in Kenya.
A Winning Team
This is a huge achievement for the park. Anyone who has been here will know that we are a small team, so everyone’s hard work and loyalty really counts and has contributed our success.
Last year many changes had to be made with extra safety measures in place to ensure our customers could feel relaxed on holiday. It was certainly a challenge, so to have won this award despite those circumstances feels extra special.
Visit East Devon for your Staycation
We are delighted to help put East Devon and our beautiful village of Dalwood on the map as we know the region is often overlooked. Not many villages can boost so many award winning businesses – Burrow Farm Gardens, The Tuckers Arms and award winning wine from Dalwood Vineyard, all supported by a fabulous local community.
The local area has such a fantastic variety of places to visit, attractions, artisan crafts and great local food as well as the glorious and varied coastline. This is definitely going to be the year of the staycation.
