Fantastic Events in Devon, Dorset and Somerset
There are so many great events in Devon, Dorset and Somerset, you are sure to find days out to suit your family, whatever the ages.
Many visitors to the area make a point of booking when their favourite event is running. Here are some of the best well known ones for 2019:
Exeter Festival of Food and Drink – samples to your hearts content, local food producers and demonstrations by celebrity chefs as well as hands on courses and entertainment. 4th, 5th & 6th May
River Cottage Food Fair – a fun day out at the River Cottage HQ trying food, joining in with activities and enjoying entertainment. With demonstrations and talks from many of the River Cottage TV show regulars 25th – 26th May
Axe Vale Show – with it’s early focus on gardening and crafts, this festival now has something for everyone from food to crafts, arena displays and entertainment and has expanded to run over 2 days. – 22nd and 23rd June
Lyme Regis Life Boat Week – a week long schedule of events for all the family. 27th July – 3rd August
Honiton Show – one of the largest one day agricultural shows in England. Full of animals, tractors, food and entertainment. Thursday 1st August.
Sidmouth Folk Festival Week – one of the best small festivals in the country with a huge range of music and entertainment. performances all over town and many free events 2nd – 9th August.
Lyme Regis Carnival and Regatta Week. A week of activities for all ages as well as a fantastic fire work display, All raising money for local charities and organisations 3rd – 11th August
Dalwood Fair – our local village fair is a traditional event with family entertainment, games of chance and displays. Popular with visitors and a locals alike. Saturday 17th August
Buckham Fair – not being held in 2019
River Cottage Festival – enjoy the bank holiday weekend at River Cottage HQ with food, classes, joining in with activities or just pick one of the evening sessions of music to enjoy. 24th – 25th August 2018
Sidmouth Regatta and Red Arrows Display. Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th August
